Goshawk

The Goshawk is a motor-glider being built at Windward Performance. The Majority of my work was on body work. I used sandpaper, body filler, paper, jigs to hold up the air frame, and elbow grease to do bodywork on the plane. The primary goal was to get the body shape as smooth as possible. If a layer of the base paint was too thin, I'd mix up some body filler, apply a thin layer to the area, wait for it to dry, then sand it smooth. I used LOCTITE EA 9696, clecos, and cleco pliers, to help install the window. On the inside of the door, I first dry fitted the window and drilled out holes for the clecos, then applied clecos to hold the window to the inside of the door, I used masking tape around the outside of where the window was placed. I then mixed up the LOCTITE EA 9396 with it’s hardener (following company mixture procedure) and applied it to the unmasked area. With the clock ticking, and some help, I put the window into place and reapplied the clecos. I preformed other such manufacturing tasks on getting the Goshawk up parr for it’s presentation at EAA Airventure 2017 in Oshkosh.
